Coursework

Over the last three years I have completed many assignments for my Information Technology degree. These samples of my coursework illustrate the skills I’ve acquired and improved upon in the use of technology, communication and teamwork, and information literacy.

All of the samples, including the Capstone project, are my own original work. I used Canva for designing cover pages, table of contents, and other visual aspects of this ePortfolio, as well as to access free-to-use graphics and images.

Journals and Essays

ENG 1150 Experiencing Literature provided an overview of diverse voices in literature; from short stories by Alice Walker to a screenplay by August Wilson. Presentations and Trainings

Presentations and trainings provide valuable information to staff and help library users learn new skills and make full use of library services. These presentations and trainings are mostly focused on web technologies, but there is a Film Studies Pathfinder that reflects my own interest in movies and television. These assignments showcase how I research and organize information, provide instructions, and understand how to use programs like Canva and PowerPoint to create presentations.

Research

Most college level work requires some research. The assignments in this section were for the specific purpose of exercising research skills. A rhetorical analysis of a magazine article and a final research paper were completed for ENG 1120 Composition II. There’s a sample of blog and forum posts used in class discussions in LIS 2103 Technology in Libraries. And for LIS 1101 Cataloguing and Classification, I researched the selection, acquisition, cataloging, classification, and processing of a new collection for a library. These assignments illustrate teamwork, communication, and information literacy skills.
